Whatever
Today I watched an amazing documentary by Mike Shiley, a made a fake press pass and entered Iraq to shoot a documentary about what the big media is not showing us. The video is available for free on Joost (I might have some invitations left, if any of you is interested), which I’m really starting to like. It’s also available on the Indie Flix website, but you have to pay.

Whatever
I know, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on my blog. I finally got ahold of my new appartment yesterday night (still living at the ETS residences, but in a new appt.). So I woke up early this morning to go to Barcamp2 ! I met lots of my friends and some new amazing people. I presented a quick talk about iFIND, the project I’ve been developing at MIT over the past few months. It was a really really fun day. It was actually the first I’ve ever been to a Barcamp and I gotta say that I enjoyed the format. It was great about stuff I would have never expect to hear at a conf. like this (such as a talk on Traveling around the world alone or on “lucid dreaming”). Obviously the majority of the talks we’re about Web 2.0-ish apps, but it was refreshing to hear other stuff as well.
I got to talk a lot with Sylvain Carle, who did an great presentation on “the valley” from a Montréalais perspective. I talked with Michel Dumais and told him how much I enjoy listening to his podcast (Citoyen Numérique). I’ll try to get the director of the lab I was working in to do a quick interview for his show. Then I met Martin Dufort, CEO of Kakiloc, who’s working on a project that’s in many ways very similar to Loopt, though I haven’t actually seen his product (it’s still in private beta). Actually I’ve met many many more amazingly cool people… (great to see, after spending months in the MIT dream world, that there are in fact many passionate tech geeks (like me) in Montreal too).
In a nutshell, it’s great to be back in Montreal and I’m actually starting classing this monday morning … outch Wave Physics at 9am … gotta get the coffee maker ready.
